The ECU detects very low voltage from the coolant temperature sensor, interpreting extremely high engine temperature

Common symptoms

  • Cooling fan running almost constantly
  • possible engine protection mode
  • high temperature warning light

Possible causes

  • Signal circuit shorted to ground
  • faulty ECT sensor
