Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice explains what personal data MecaOBD may collect, how it uses that data, which third parties may support operation of the service, and how users may request deletion of their account or associated data.

1. Data controller

MecaOBD is an application developed and operated by César Ricardo Crespo Pérez (hereinafter, “MecaOBD” or “the Controller”).

Contact email for privacy, support or account deletion matters: crespocesar0@outlook.com

2. Nature of the service

MecaOBD is a digital support tool for consulting OBD-II codes and receiving AI-assisted automotive diagnostic guidance.

Information generated by the application is for guidance purposes and does not replace physical vehicle inspection, in-person diagnosis or the opinion of a qualified automotive mechanic or technician.

3. Personal data we may collect

3.1 Account data

When a user creates an account or uses the application, we may collect and process the following data:

3.2 Data related to use of the application

3.3 Images voluntarily submitted by the user

The application may allow users to capture or submit images related to the vehicle, for example the dashboard, warning lights, visible parts, connectors, components or external conditions that the user chooses to share to supplement a diagnosis.

These images are used only to process the AI-assisted diagnostic request. MecaOBD does not request images of people, official documents, vehicle license plates, home addresses or other sensitive data.

MecaOBD does not retain the original image or its encoded content in its database after the request has been processed. The image is transmitted to the artificial intelligence provider to generate the diagnosis and is then subject to that provider's own data processing and retention practices.

Users should avoid submitting images containing unnecessary personal information, documents, faces, private locations, vehicle license plates or other data that is not relevant to automotive diagnosis.

3.4 Purchases, subscriptions and reward data

If the user purchases tokens, activates a subscription or uses rewarded advertisements, we may process information required to administer those benefits, including:

4. Data we do not request

To reduce the amount of personal information processed, MecaOBD does not require:

MecaOBD does not sell personal data.

6. Third-party services

MecaOBD may rely on third-party services to operate correctly. These services may receive data necessary to perform the relevant function:

Processing performed by these third parties is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

7. Data sharing or disclosure

MecaOBD may share information with technology providers only when necessary to operate the application, process diagnostics, validate purchases, deliver advertising rewards, protect the service or comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell personal data or share it with third parties for independent commercial sale.

8. Data retention

Account and usage data will be retained while the user's account remains active or for as long as necessary to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse or maintain reasonable technical records.

When a user deletes an account, MecaOBD will delete or disassociate the associated data, except for information that must be retained for legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, purchase verification or incident resolution.

As an abuse-prevention measure, after an account is deleted MecaOBD may retain a technical device identifier used to control one-time delivery of the initial bonus. This identifier is disassociated from the deleted account and is used only to prevent repeated claims of that benefit.

9. Account and data deletion

To exercise these rights, users may send a request to: crespocesar0@outlook.com , indicating the email address associated with the account and clearly describing the request.

11. Security

MecaOBD implements reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect user information, including encrypted or hashed password storage, access-token validation and HTTPS communications.

However, no digital system can guarantee absolute security. Users are also responsible for protecting their access credentials and avoiding unnecessary disclosure of information within the application.
