These Terms of Use govern access to and use of MecaOBD, an application that supports OBD-II code lookup and AI-assisted automotive diagnostic guidance.
By downloading, accessing, registering for or using MecaOBD, the user accepts these Terms of Use and the applicable Privacy Notice. If the user does not agree with these terms, the application should not be used.
MecaOBD is an application developed and operated by César Ricardo Crespo Pérez (hereinafter, “MecaOBD” or “the Operator”).

MecaOBD is a digital support tool for OBD-II code lookup, interpretation of symptoms and generation of AI-assisted automotive diagnostic guidance.
Information provided by MecaOBD is informational and advisory. It does not replace physical inspection of the vehicle, in-person diagnosis by a professional mechanic, certified technical assessment or official manufacturer recommendations.
Results may contain errors, limitations, omissions or incomplete interpretations, particularly when information provided by the user is insufficient, inaccurate or cannot be physically verified.
The user acknowledges that any decision related to driving, repairs, maintenance, replacement of parts, inspection of components or mechanical intervention must be made using their own judgment and, where necessary, with assistance from a qualified technician or mechanic.
The user must not drive or operate a vehicle if an unsafe condition, critical fault, accident risk, leak, overheating, brake failure, steering failure, serious electrical fault or any other condition that could endanger people or property is suspected.
MecaOBD does not perform repairs, physical inspections, certifications, technical appraisals, in-person mechanical services or guarantees regarding the actual condition of a vehicle.
Certain functions may require the user to create an account and provide information such as an email address, username and password.
The user is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of access credentials and for activity carried out through the account.
MecaOBD may limit, suspend or terminate access to an account if it detects misuse, abuse of the system, attempted fraud, security interference, unauthorized automation, reward manipulation, use contrary to these terms or activity that may damage operation of the service.
MecaOBD may use a token system to provide access to certain AI-assisted diagnostic functions.
New users may receive an initial balance of 3 tokens. After those initial tokens are consumed, the user may obtain additional tokens only through options available within the application, such as token purchases or rewarded advertisements, when those functions are available.
Tokens do not represent money, bank credit, electronic currency or value redeemable outside MecaOBD. They are not transferable between users and may only be used within the application according to the current service rules.
MecaOBD may adjust the number of tokens required, available rewards, promotions, benefits or usage rules when necessary for technical, commercial, security or operational reasons.
If MecaOBD offers token purchases, subscriptions, Pro plans or other digital benefits within the application distributed through Google Play, those purchases must be processed through Google Play Billing in accordance with applicable Google Play policies.
Prices, taxes, renewals, cancellations, payment methods, confirmations, refunds or payment claims may be subject to Google Play rules, tools and policies.
MecaOBD may validate purchases, subscriptions or benefits using purchase tokens, transaction identifiers or other technical information provided by Google Play Billing.
Unless expressly stated otherwise within the application or required by applicable law, consumed digital benefits, used tokens or diagnoses already generated are not refundable by MecaOBD.
MecaOBD may display advertising, including rewarded ads through Google AdMob. When a user chooses to view a rewarded advertisement, tokens or other benefits may be granted within the application if the advertisement is successfully completed and the reward is validated.
Ad availability depends on Google AdMob, the device, approximate location, advertising inventory, connection, advertising policies and other external factors. MecaOBD does not guarantee that ads will always be available or that every view will generate a reward when technical validation conditions are not met.
MecaOBD may use artificial intelligence services to process messages, symptoms, OBD-II codes, images or information voluntarily submitted by the user.
Responses generated by artificial intelligence may be useful as guidance, but must not be considered a definitive diagnosis, certified technical instruction or repair guarantee.
Users should review the information received, compare it with the physical condition of the vehicle and consult a professional when there is uncertainty, a safety risk or a persistent fault.
The user is responsible for information, messages, codes, symptoms, images or data entered into MecaOBD.
Users agree not to submit illegal, offensive, fraudulent or malicious content, deliberately false content, content that infringes third-party rights, or unnecessary personal information belonging to other people.
Users should avoid submitting images containing faces, official documents, vehicle license plates, home addresses, sensitive data or information that is not necessary for automotive diagnosis.
MecaOBD may use external services such as OpenAI, Google Play Billing, Google AdMob, infrastructure, analytics, security or communication services.
Operation of these services depends on third parties and may be subject to their own terms, conditions, privacy policies, availability, technical limitations and usage rules.
MecaOBD does not control or guarantee the permanent availability, operation, accuracy, continuity, security or operational decisions of those third parties.
MecaOBD may modify, update, suspend, limit or discontinue service functions, in whole or in part, when necessary for technical, legal, commercial, security, maintenance, product-improvement or third-party-policy reasons.
The service is not guaranteed to be continuously available, error-free, compatible with every device or accessible at all times.
The MecaOBD brand, design, interface, structure, text, code, graphics, databases, visual elements, operating logic and other service components belong to the Operator or are used with the corresponding authorization.
Copying, reproduction, modification, distribution, sale, reverse engineering, mass extraction of data, unauthorized commercial exploitation or misuse of MecaOBD elements is prohibited without prior written authorization.
Processing of personal data is governed by the MecaOBD Privacy Notice, available at: https://mecaobd.com/en/legal/privacy.html
By using MecaOBD, the user acknowledges having been informed about personal-data processing under the current Privacy Notice.
Web deletion request: https://mecaobd.com/en/legal/delete-account.html .
Users may request deletion of their account and associated data from within the application, when that option is available, or by using the contact email stated in these terms and in the Privacy Notice.
Account deletion may result in loss of access to history, tokens, benefits, settings, diagnoses and other account-associated information, except for information that must be retained for legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, purchase verification or incident resolution.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MecaOBD will not be liable for damages, losses, accidents, incorrect repairs, incomplete diagnoses, driving decisions, maintenance costs, data loss, service interruptions, technical errors, third-party failures or consequences arising from use or inability to use the application.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
Users agree to use MecaOBD lawfully, reasonably and in accordance with these terms.
The following are prohibited:
These terms will be interpreted in accordance with the applicable laws of the United Mexican States.
Any dispute will be resolved under the applicable legislation and by the competent authorities, without prejudice to rights that may correspond to the user under consumer-protection regulations or other mandatory provisions.
MecaOBD may update these Terms of Use to reflect legal, technical, commercial, operational or functionality changes.
The current version will be available on the official website and/or within the application. Continued use of MecaOBD after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated version to the extent permitted by applicable law.
